The Doors were co-founded by frontman Jim Morrison and keyboardist Ray Manzarek in Los Angeles during the summer of 1965. The band shot to fame following the release of Light My Fire which went #1 in the United States but were always regarded as controversial due to the enigmatic and often unpredictable nature of Morrison’s on-stange antics. The Doors released six critically-acclaimed albums with Morrison at the helm before his death in 1971.
Shot by Roy Martin in 1967, The Doors are pictured performing live at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto.
